Family Baby shower in Austin

Hosted by: My sister Tammy and aunts, Olivia and Mary.
Location: Uncle Fred and Aunt Mary's, in Austin, Tx.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize the shower, and thank you to everybody who came, as well.

On Saturday afternoon many of our family & friends, came out to celebrate Everett's soon-to-come birth.

The spread included all of our comfort foods: mashed potatoes, potato salad, beans, fruit kabobs, hamburgers, chips and plenty of other great food.
PLUS, dear friend Trixy brought in an amazing rasberry filled, half chocolate/half vanilla cake; it was beautifully decorated in our nursery puppy theme. :)

We received more adorable outfits, gift certificates, toys, socks, burp cloths, shoes, books, adorable throws, receiving blankets, pacifiers, and the list goes on. A special thank you to cousin Erin for taking photos during "presents". :)

Thank you all for your generosity....we were definitely reminded how blessed we are with such loving friends and family.
Thanks to everybody who has come to the showers. Formal thank-you notes are en route over the next week or so.

32 week doctor's appointment

We had our 32 week doctor's appointment today and all is perfect and on schedule. At this time, Everett is registering "big" for his size (4lbs & 12 ounces, according to the sonogram). :)
At the beginning of Deona's pregnancy, Grammie Jordan dreamt our baby would be 9 pounds; 13 ounces at birth...Grammie might be right.
Deona's been feeling great, although has been experiencing sciatic nerve pain and back ache, nothing a snicker bar or two wont fix. :)

Not much longer, can’t wait!

Jordan Family Baby shower

Hosted by: Elaine Field
Date: Sat. March 8th
Location: Cafe Acapulco in South Arlington

Aunts, cousins, Mimi, and long time family friends of the Jordan’s (who might as well be family) were at this shower which was very graciously hosted by Elaine Field. The mood was fun, the food was wonderful, and the conversation seemed to never end. For most of the people in attendance it had been way to long since we had seen and talked to them. This shower in particular for me was a reminder of how powerful love is. All the times I struggled with who I was and shut my family and friends out because I knew they couldn't possibly understand or care...come to find out their love for me was always stronger than whether or not they agreed with how I lived my life. I cannot begin to express how seeing everyone there, excited and supportive of us, opened my eyes to a new reality. I love them all very much and am so incredibly thankful that my life (and now Monica's and soon to be Everett's) has been blessed by knowing each of them and their love.

We received many wonderful necessities and just for fun things at this shower: clothes, toys, high chair, baby papasan chair, bath items, storage and organizing items, gift cards, play yard, and more.

Thank you to all who were there. We are so appreciative of your gifts and support and look forward to introducing you to Everett soon.

GLO/FOG Neighborhood Baby shower

Date: Fri. March 7th
Hosted by: A plethora of GLO/FOG friends from our old neighborhood Oakhurst in Fort Worth
Location: Phyllis & Fred Anglin's House

Our GLO/FOG group has been meeting almost monthly for about 2 years now. Kathryn and Denise were so incredibly sweet to offer to have the March meeting be a Baby Shower for us, and a huge thanks to Phyllis for having it at her house. I'm not exactly sure who in the group did what, but I know Linda and Michelle were also involved in the food and/or decorations, so a big thanks and hug to them as well.

The theme was ducks. The food was incredible: Spinach dip, fruit, petifores, nuts and mints, and I know I'm forgetting something. :( A big thanks to Phyllis' daughter for creating such a beautiful diaper cake for us.

We always enjoy the time we get with our GLO/FOG group. It's was so nice to be able to see everyone and catch up with what's been going on in their lives. We are so appreciative of all the gifts we received: some cute, cute clothes as well as car sun shades, kitchen items, books, toys, bath items, bedding items, gift certificates, etc. (Thank you Kathryn O. for keeping order while we were opening and Denise for writing it all down :) )

A huge thanks to each of you for being there and sharing in this incredibly exciting time in our lives. We look forward to seeing Everett grow up knowing the love of so many wonderful people.

Another big thanks to Kathryn H. for serving as photographer throughout the opening of the presents. :)
