37 weeks and full term!

Everett is considered full term today! Only 3 weeks to go!
According to babycenter.com Everett should be approximately 6.3 pounds and measure just over 19 inches in length. In addition to celebrating this milestone, we've had a very busy weekend; including having a professional photographer come to the house for our very first photo shoot. Though a little nerve-racking for Deona, I think the pics are beautiful.

Doctor's appointment

We had our 36 week doctors appt on Wednesday. This abbreviated doctor's appointment was fast and uneventful. No sonogram or no cervical check.
The good news... Everett's heartbeat was great and so was Deona's blood pressure. The only semi-bad news was Deona gained 4 pounds (a total of 11, thus far) since her last appt, two weeks ago. Dr. Udell seems to think it's mostly fluid retention and has advised she not go back to work, if she gains 2 pounds by next Wednesday, 4/29.
On another note....
We're still working to get all baby shower Thank You's mailed out. Please accept our apologies for any delays. We have great intentions, but working at a slower pace, these days.
23 DAYS TO GO!!!

35 weeks!

Love these pics, had to post them.
Another productive weekend...
We made a trip to Babies R Us to purchase a crib mattress, humidifier and a few other baby necessities for the nursery.
We made a trip to Dallas to meet our attorney for legal paperwork (wills, medical power of attorney, guardianship, etc) before Everett gets here. There is so much to consider and prepare for, when you're not able to get married...in fact, no rights at all if you dont have legal docs in order (I can get on a soap box about this).
We have our final class "Baby Health Care" tonight.
On another note, Deona's co-worker, Kristen delivered on Saturday (3 weeks early - due late April).
YIKES, time's running out!!! :) 34 days to go!!

Camp Fire friends baby shower

Deona with hostess, Andrea

a sweet gift (wooden train) from her dad.

Recap of this fabulous event coming soon!

34 weeks pregnant!

We had our 34 week doctor's appointment today (Wednesday), and it seems the appointment couldn’t have happened on a more perfect day.
Today marks the first day Deona's complained about feeling uncomfortable....her clothes feel especially tight and confining, new pressure in her rib area, Braxton Hicks contractions are happening more often. Add a dash of high emotions and we've got a fat, scary woman. :D (kidding, love).
At the appointment, Deona had her weight and blood pressure taken.
To date, Deona's gained 7 pounds. Her blood pressure read a little high (137/91) however, not a surprise, due to the emotions of running late to her appointment. :)
Her pelvic examine confirmed we are on schedule and still have a few weeks to go....no dilation at this time.
38 days to go!

Euless JH Baby shower

Hosted by: Ralena Stanton, Ginger Garner, Bonnie Brownell, Kristen Mileur, Ann Nations, Jill Novelo and Jane Heilskov.

Date: Tuesday, April 1st

Location: Euless Junior High Teachers Lounge

I did not originally plan on having a work shower, but Ginger, Bonnie and Ralena changed my mind. :) How blessed am I to work at a place with such wonderful, caring people that want to share in the celebration of Everett. Though I was incredibly apprehensive about it, the shower turned out to be great. I was surprised and am so appreciative of the number of people that were there and those that said they were sorry they couldn't be.

The theme was Puppy Dogs and they decorated in the colors of our nursery. Thank you to Patty for doing the invitations.

We received more adorable clothes and some incredible gift certificates, as well as blankets, toys, kitchen items, a Bumbo playtray, and some much needed bedding and organization items.

I always say and continue to believe that I work at the best school with an amazing staff and am greatly spoiled by the level of support and acceptance by all. A huge thank you to all of them for their excitement for us in this new adventure.

Thanks to Lee Ann Gilbert for taking the pics.
