Back from the Hillcountry

A short, yet fun-filled weekend in Wimberley, San Marcos, Kyle & Austin.
On Saturday we met my mom (Ev's Gramma) in San Marcos for lunch at Mamacitas. Yum. Afterwards we headed back to Gramma & Grampa's house (in Wimberley) to rest for a while, then off to Bob Shelton Stadium at Hays Highschool (in Kyle), for my nephew's (Chad) highschool graduation.

The ceremony was wonderful; I especially liked the ceremony being outdoors, as it allowed for hearty conversation, blowing Thomas the train bubbles, and squirmy children. Chad had a super cheering section; including uncle Fred, aunt Mary, cousins Freddy, Bianca, Jordan, Shannon, James, his grandparents (Martin & Christine), his parents (Donato & Tammy), his friend Brandon, Deona, Everett and myself.
After the ceremony, we all headed to Chili's for a late dinner; which also included Chad opening presents and everyone taking pictures of the graduate. :) It's hard to believe Chad is a graduate....I'm so proud of him and excited he will be attending UNT in the fall. Oh, another exciting happening at Chili's...Everett learned how to use a straw for the very first time (thanks Gramma for the idea).
Sunday morning, Mom, Dad, Deona, Ev and I, headed to Garcia's for breakfast, then to see my oldest nephew Chris & (fiance)Kim's, new house in Austin. The house is beautiful; it's exactly what I want....I invited myself to move in with them...Chris wasn't excited about the idea, nor did he extend the offer. :)
Before heading back to Wimberly, Grampa made a pitstop at Toys 'R Us; a first for Everett. You can only imagine how excited Everett was, he didnt even know where to begin. He wanted to touch EVERYTHING, yet wanted only the toy broom that Gramma found in the toy kitchen section, of the store. He was obsessed and wouldnt let lose of his tight grip, not even for a second.
Though we were only out of town for a little over a 24 hour period, it felt like a fun, filled week with everyone. Thanks mom and dad for a super, fun-filled weekend (and all the cool stuff)! :) We're looking forward to returning, and spending a few more days with you. We'll be back just as soon as we can.

Ev wants only the broom (and runs away with it).

Uncle Roy (Matt's dad) brings in his new birthday car from Grampy and Grammy.

Everett giving Matt a few driving pointers, since he also got a car (different model) with a steering wheel for his birthday, two weeks ago. :)

Grammy looks on.

Matt tries his personalized sippy cup; brother Jordan checks out Matt's new Winnie the Pooh book and stuffed Winnie.
Roy's sister Christina and Everett.

Matthew quite tickled about receiving a dollar bill from great-grandmother, Mimi.

Grampy telling Ev, he's got a dollar for him, too. :)

Enjoying some time on the swingset.
Jordan wants Auntie M to push him "really high".

Everett loves to swing, too.

Daddy Roy watches Jordan try out the slide.
Everett loves going through tunnels.
A super time at the Hayhursts. Happy Birthday, sweet Matthew!
