HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We brought in the new year celebrating with family in Wimberley.
I am so grateful for family (and playing games).
Everett was entranced watching Jordan play Toy Story on his portable PS2.
Who doesn't love a game of Connect Four?
 Or a game of...
 "Peek-a-Boo"?
My favorite New Year's tradition?  Bunuelos! Thanks Ma!!
 3-2-1....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Everett's first drink of CIDER.
The Twelve Grapes (Las doce uvas de la suerte, "The twelve grapes of luck") is a Spanish tradition. The tradition consists in eating a grape with each bell strike at midnight of December 31 and doing so leads to a year of prosperity.  Thanks to Everett, I got in only 8 grapes this year.  Check out the picture below to locate the other four grapes.  :o) Silly Boy.
Everett celebrates with Bianca.  Everett LOVES "Inka". :o)
We have enjoyed sharing some of the journey in our blog with you. We thank you for the time you spend here with us, and wish for you and the ones you love the most Happiest of New Years! I hope that we may all continue to celebrate the beauty and fullness of our everyday lives in the year to come.
Cheers!

Old Mill Station

One of  Everett's highlights during the week was visiting the "Old Mill Station" in San Marcos.

Thanks uncle Dodo for taking us and aunt Tammy for taking photos with your phone. :)

Lucky for us, the Jaso's were also off from work this week, which meant we got to see and play lots more with them during our stay.
My sister loves me so much she gave me a pedicure. Look how much fun we're having. :)
 Lots of time for game,cards,...
 ...and baby playing
We've had a great time relaxing and spending time with family.
Looking forward to bringing in the new year with Bunuelos, grilled cheese sandwiches and new year resolutions.  Stay tuned for more pics from this evening festivities.

Our Patchwork Quilt Christmas

After a gift exchange with the Hayhursts, we celebrated Christmas with the Baird/Cating/Farquar families yesterday.  Aunt Jackie says it best...she calls us all her "patchwork quilt family" though we are not related by blood, we are all stitched together by love.  We shared a wonderful dinner together, played games, sang songs all while watching Kaitlyn and Everett wrestle and run about the house.  Our threads are indeed strong and we feel so very blessed to have them all in our lives.  Thanks Hayhursts, Bairds, Catings, and Farquars for everything, we are so appreciative.

Sweet baby Kade is growing like a weed.
Grampy and Emory taking a much needed nap.
Everett absolutely adores his cousin Kaitlyn and it's fairly obvious Kaitlyn feels the same. :o)

Christmas with Grampy

Grampy spent Christmas evening with us.  The evening consisted of dinner, watching the Cardinal/Cowboy football game then watching Everett open gifts (from Grampy) all while Emory slept.
Happy Candy Dance! Everett loves holidays as he is allowed to eat lots of candy.
Thanks Grampy for your thoughtfulness and spending your evening with us, we had a nice time.
