Everett's a Dolphin!

Everett got in to the Core Knowledge program in the HEB ISD school district.  He will be a Dolphin at Meadow Creek Elementary in the Fall.  Because there are only 3 Core Knowledge campuses in the district, there is always a lottery process and waiting list so learning we got our 1st choice in this program was truly exciting.
It's hard to believe Everett will be 4 years old and  in preschool.   Each of us is celebrating for different reasons; this mom is saying HOORAY!!! (o:

Happy {early} Birthday Emory!

So Emory turns 2 years old on April 10th, but we decided to have his birthday party this past Saturday while we were already camping. 2 birds/1 stone....seemed like a good idea.
Well remember in my last post i mentioned we determined Emory was not a fan of the great outdoors?  Well he woke up in a bad mood and stayed that way for the majority of the day. A HUGE Thank you to Grammy for driving Emory around while we prepared for the day/party.  We couldn't have set up without you. The day was hard ya'll. Even so, we enjoyed our family and friends coming together for a lovely day at the park.

Birthday theme: Nature and bugs.
Emory with cousin Jordan
Toni, AKA "Special T" helps Everett collect nature items on the Scavenger Hunt.
There's an inchworm on that stick there!

One of the few things that made Emory's day.
Yep, that's ice he placed on his own head.
Little Stink!

A big thanks to those who came out and celebrated our Emory's 2nd birthday, you mean a great deal to us!

 xoxo

Our Wonderful Weekend with our Family Nature Club

A perfect weekend for camping.  Our family nature club made a trip to Cedar Hills State Park for a weekend of bug collecting, roasting marshmallows, fishing, relaxation and making new friends.
Everett loved fishing, even though this meant no hook {this time around}.  Our club will be making a fishing day trip in the very near future.
Lots of fun and silliness, especially when "Special T" is around.
S'mores!
This camping trip solidified that Everett loves nature and Emory does not. :( Well I think there's still hope however any restrictions/limitations we placed on Emory only made him angry; not to mention how much he hates sleeping in a tent.   Thankfully Grammy was willing and excited to spend Saturday night and Sunday morning with Emory at home. THANKS GRAMMY.
Deona and I also realized that it's been a REALLY long time since we spent any time with just Everett.  It was really a fun and quite a special day.
The bluebonnets in Texas are unbelievable right now, especially in Cedar Hill.
Getting in a nature hike before its time to head for home.
The weekend was filled with caterpillars and lady bugs.
Packing up to head for home. :o(
A well deserved nap for our adventurous little camper.
So blessed to have spent this wonderful weekend with our friends and family.
