'Tis the season....

...for footy pajamas. Seems only fitting, since Everett REFUSES to wear socks or slippers. We bought him size 2T, even though they looked enormous on the hanger. Perfect fit, after all.

20 weeks!

We've hit the halfway mark! According to babycenter, baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. S/He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)

S/He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

This past week, Deona started feeling the baby move. We are really excited, yet feeling a little guilty since we don't have as much to do or prepare, this time around. Before Everett was born, the "to do" list was ridiculous. We've started buying a few clothes for baby E (yes, that IS a name clue), and have started discussing room themes. We're hoping to be in our new place February 1st. Send us your nursery ideas, if you have any...you still have time.

Our Hillcountry drive and Cowboy Kringle

After a full day of Black Friday shopping, the three of us and Gramma headed out for a beautiful, hillcountry drive; eventually finding ourselves in Gruene, Texas. I apologize for the quality of photos....taken with my cell phone.

Afterwards, the Jaso's (Tammy, Donato & Chad) came over for left overs and card games. Lots and lots of laughing and good times was had by all.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING; Happy football!!

Typically, our entire family (my mom's siblings & their families) gets together for Thanksgiving, but this tradition has become a bit more difficult for our growing families. This year Deona, Ev and I were able to join my family in Wimberly for a smaller gathering. Though bittersweet, we had an amazing time eating, playing games and watching football; including watching our Texas Longhorns beat the hell out of rival Texas Ag's.

San Antonio landmark

Today, my parents, sister, Ev & I headed to San Antonio to pick up tamales for our Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. It just didnt seem right to invest all that time driving there without stopping at Pico de Gallo for breakfast. After all, it IS one of our family's fav's. :o)

After breakfast and picking up tamales, we made a spontaneous trip to Kiddie Park. Kiddie Park was a special place for my sister and I, when we were growing up; it's been a San Antonio landmark for kids since 1925. It was great going back today, only this time with Everett. I sure wish Deona could have shared the day with us, as it was so much fun watching Everett enjoy the same rides I remember 37 years ago with my parents and sister.

Buckles & Bouncey Balls

Everett is obsessed with buckling himself in grocery baskets and high chairs. Thank goodness Gramma has a chair with buckles for him at her house. Tonight, Ev spent a good hour working this activity with Gramma on the floor. Doesnt sound like much, but poor Gramma just spent the hour prior counting and holding a styrofoam cup while Ev stuffed bouncy balls through the cup lid. Thanks Gramma, Ev has so much fun playing with you.
