Mama's first day of summer vacation...

...and what a great way to start the summer! The three of us headed to Randol Mill Aquatic Center for a picnic lunch and some fun in the sun. After sunscreening, we realized we forgot to bring Ev's sun hat and sun glasses! Lucky for us, I always have a doo-rag with me, so today Ev got to wear it on his head for protection against a sunburn.
There was so much fun to have. We had a super time floating the lazy river (3 times), and playing on/under the waterscape. Everett especially liked turning the red wheels, which turned the water fountains on and off.

(Photos are from my cell phone, therefore pics may appear dark and blurry.)

Sizing up the water slide.

Everett's turn at the waterslide!

weeeeeeee!

He must have taken a turn, 25 times or so.
Enjoying a final splash before it's time to go home.

Not even out of the parking lot and our baby boy was fast asleep (with broom, of course). :)
A great way to spend an afternoon; I'm sure we'll be back.

...this week, that is :) He may or may not like some of these next week.
  • fruit (especially nectarines, plums, and watermelon)
  • cottage cheese
  • tofu hot dogs
  • going for walks
  • riding in his red car
  • collecting sticks
  • his toy broom
  • shrieking
  • being chased
  • going to the playground across the street
  • going down the slide
  • swinging (he likes to be pushed really high)
  • throwing balls
  • chewing on books
  • climbing
  • hammering
  • using a straw
  • drinking from a water bottle
  • playing in/with water

Slides & Sticks

Today, Everett sat in his car that Gramma & Grampa got for his birthday, and said, "walk". It was very clear and there wasnt any guessing as to what he wanted to do this morning. So, we set out for a walk and ended up at the park across the street.

Everett loves slides; yet gets upset when I dont let him go down by himself. Try telling a one year old that someone has to be at the bottom to catch him, it's not very easy.

Well, maybe playing in the bark is just as fun,as going down the slide.

Then, we went on a hunt for sticks...

A fun morning with my growing boy. I really enjoy watching his skills develop; every day is something new. It's always exciting to see what's next.

Lot's of FUN in the SUN with Kaitlyn who is ONE!

Kaitlyn is officially ONE year old and what a wonderful time EVERYONE had at her birthday party! We really enjoy taking Everett to new places and watching him experience new things, like squishing his toes in the sand. Sometimes, however, these experiences can also be less than exciting, like watching Ev pop sand balls into his mouth. Ick! :-) We’re delighted he enjoyed playing in the fountains, sitting in the sand, and splashing in the lake. We look forward to spending many summer days in the water this year. Thank you Kaitlyn and Rebecca for a WONDERFUL time!

"Where's everybody at? Let's go play!"

"Onward, to the beach!"

"WOOOHOOO!"

Birthday cake time!
Present time, present time!

Chillin' before it's time to go. :(

Our first swim of the season!

Hooray! Our pool is finally warm enough for us to swim or should I say play? :-) Either way, Everett and I enjoyed some time in it, this afternoon.
