Happy 100th Birthday Mimi!

 We celebrated Deona's grandmother's 100th birthday November 15th.

Arlington's Mayor, Jeff Williams, proclaimed November 15th, 2015 "Roberta Watts Day"!
You can imagine just how excited Mimi was to receive this news.

Mimi with her granddaughters, Kelly, Deona & Dondi.

Mimi's great-grand children.
Mimi will be a great-GREAT grandmother next summer; AJ (Mimi's oldest great-grandchild) and his fiance' are expecting!

Such a fun and memorable day celebrating a remarkable lady.
Happy Birthday Mimi!

Guiness Book Cup Stacking Event at Parker

GUINESS BOOK CUP STACKING EVENT HAS STARTED!

Everett is participating in this year's Guinness World Records event today at his school today.  Guiness requires that all participating schools and organizations have at least 25 stackers from each school for their participation to count towards this year's record attempt.

Everett loves speed cup stacking; I think he has found the perfect sport for his athletic type. ;)
If you look closely you will see Everett (on the stage, very right).

We are sooo very proud of our Everett.
 I love this boy.

I apologize for the poor quality in these photos.
Guess it's time to dust off the 'ol Nikon (with the zoom lens and settings), we have an athlete in the house! ;-P

Emory's First School Field Trip and Bus Ride

Today was Emory's very first school field trip and it was to the Opera house!  The play was based on Eric Hill's book "Spot". Theater Terra brought Spot to life through the use of puppets and actors on stage.

afterwards, a picnic lunch with classmates on the Strand.
Such a fun day; I know Emory will remember this day forever.

Parker Lip Dub

This is a Lip Dub video at the boys' school.  Look closely and you will see Ev at 2:50 (on the right; he's holding the letter "O" in "Mexico")and Em is at 3:19 (on the left holding a blue pool noodle). The media art students from Ball high school (where Deona works),  produced this video.  Such a fun day for all the students and staff at Parker elementary.

Halloween on the Island

Darth Vader and the Jedi Knight (aka Luke Skywalker).
They may look cool but don't be fooled, costumes were mostly put together with items already in their dress up/costume box. I'm 100% positive Emory will strangle me when he finds out the cool vest/jacket he wore Halloween 2015 was a pair of  Mommy's fat trousers. :-P This fabric went a long way; being fat does have it's advantages.

Before a big night trick-or-treating we (the four of us plus Grammy) headed to Fisherman's Wharf  for an early dinner.

Afterwards, we trick-or-treated the Strand...

then we went trick-or-treating at a nearby neighborhood.
This is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Galveston.

The houses are spectacular; so much history and charm.
Hello stairs.
We waited at the sidewalk this year.

Apparently Deona felt the kitty cat, dressed in a pumpkin costume behind the screen door, was worth the stair climb. :)
A very different, yet awesome, Halloween on Galveston Island.
