Emory is 10 months old!

Emory, you're 10 months old today!!!!
I feel like this past month you spent a lot of time perfecting what you already knew how to do.  You crawl really fast, you eat like a pro and you pull up with ease.

Here's what you've been up to this month:
  • You learned how to use the furniture to cruise around.
  • You're learning how to squat and sit down with control.
  • You just started making talking sounds.  Sometimes it sounds like you're saying "Mama".  Much of your jabbering/talking sounds like "glah-glah-glah".
  •  You still eat baby foods, but enjoy eating regular foods. You've gotten pretty darn good with your pincher grasp. You have had green beans, peas, spaghetti,  bread, tortillas, rice, beans, avacado, cottage cheese, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, bananas and I'm sure a few other things I'm not remembering. You eat every single thing we put in front of you.
  • You have had your bottom 2 teeth for a while now.  Your top two are really trying to make their way through.  Your gums are white and Mommy can feel the jagged beginnings of them .
  • Though you're not much into snuggling, you love to be carried and really dislike being placed in your pack-in-play for most of our attempts.
  • Though you are still using a “sussy” (pacifier), times have been limited to bedtime and those rare moments when you are really upset.  It is our hope to have you weened in the next couple of weeks.
  • You're bedtime is around 9:00 p.m. You currently have a bottle at bedtime and another around  2 a.m.
  • You typically have two or three 1 hour naps/day.
  • According to our home scale, you weigh 26 pounds.
  • You wear 18-24 month clothes , size 4 shoes, and wear a size 5 diaper.
  • Your hair sometimes appears blonde, sometimes brown and sometimes reddish brown. I think it's probably safe to say it's "light brown" at this time.  Your hair has grown alot this month; especially around your ears.  We think it’s time for your first haircut, but think we'll wait another month or two.
  • Your eyes are hazel and beautiful.
Emory Owen, it's hard to believe it's been 10 months since you joined our family; you will never understand the joy you've brought to our lives. We love you forever.
