Everett is 12 weeks old!
DEVELOPMENT
We're amazed how many new things he's doing each day.
Some of the things Everett has been doing...
-Follows objects /people with his eyes.
-Recognizes his Mama and Mommys faces and voices.
-Recognizes sounds and will turn towards them.
-Holds his head up and steady; even when lying on his tummy.
-Smiles, laughs, gurgles and coos (I especially love the big, gummy grins). :)
-Imitates sounds: "a-cooo", "whoo" and is listening closely to words, Mama and Mommy :)
-Blows bubbles
-Can bear weight on his legs.
-He's discovered his hands and has started clasping them.
-Helping hold his bottle; has held it solo a couple of times.
FEEDING
Currently little E is eating approximately 5-6 oz, every 4 hours or so. He continues to eat both breastmilk and formula. Way to go Mama, you're a trooper!
We decided to switch from Similac Advanced formula to Sensitive formula; since doing so, Everett has been a much happier baby. No more colic or constipation.
SLEEP
EVERETT IS SLEEPING THROUGHT THE NIGHT!!!! whoooohoooo!!!!!
:) Both Deona and I are ecstatic - we've had an entire week of 8 hours of sleep each night. Little E is now familiar with his bedtime routine and is in his crib by 10 p.m. ; even if he's not sleepy (he'll be asleep within 5 minutes).
We do check on him through the night, as he's been guilty of rotating his entire body 180 degrees AND we've found his little legs threaded completely through the slats of the crib. :-/
The best part is, being awakened by our "coo-ing", happy baby boy in the morning. We're relieved he's content playing and talking to himself, until one of us is able to get to him.
After breakfast, Everett is happy and loads of fun. I especially love the new sounds of raspy "coo's" and squeals he's making.
ACTIVITIES
Everett continues to enjoy his bouncer, swing and Boppy however has taken a liking to pallet time. He absolutely loves kicking his legs/feet against cushions, bellys and boobs. Ouch. We love our active baby boy.
