Annual Easter Weekend Campout - Galveston Island State Park

One of my favorite times of the year is spending the Easter holiday camping with Ori, aunt Dina, Ava and Zoe.  This year Granpop and Granmom joined us!!

 

 Our campsite was a short walk to the beach.

Deona & Ori fishing in the collllllllld ocean.  The water was a bit rough so it was no surprise they didn't catch anything.

 Eggs were hidden high and low; even on Granmom's camper.

 Their camping chairs prevented Easter basket overflow.

Celebrating Deona !!!

Guess who's 40?!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEONA!!!

This year, Deona's birthday fell during Spring Break so we started her celebration a day early (Friday)!

 I was so excited to hear Deona wanted to change her last name for her 40th.

After 16 years, we share the same last name!!

Emory's face says it all; fun times at the social security office.

 No fancy lunch or dinner needed; Chuy's "big as your face" burrito 

is what the birthday girl ordered for lunch.

 Afterwards a fun game at Top Golf in Webster.  

Today was the first time Deona ever swung a golf club.

 Saturday evening we caught a 3D show at Moody Gardens.  

The boys highly suggested Mama see "The Force Awakens" for her birthday. :)

The boys met Boba Fett before the show.

 This was the second time the boys had seen this movie.  Just as good this time around and once again, neither moved a muscle.  Oh and in case you're wondering, Mama loved it too! ;)

After the movie we headed home for some birthday cookie cake.

 

Such a wonderful weekend with my wonderful wife.

Our Happy Place

Now that the weather is warming up, we are spending more time at the community garden. 

Today we added a tower of clay pots to our herb wheel; I love how it turned out and especially love this technique as it allows us to plant more stuff!  

Top clay pot: Red and white inpatients - Deona really wanted a container reserved for colorful flowers.  

2nd clay pot:  Dill

3rd clay pot: strawberries - not sure if these will produce fruit but thought we'd give berries a try. 

4th clay pot: oregano - transplanted from the herb wheel because I really like how it flows over the pot.  In it's place we planted chocolate mint.

Our visit to Grampy's House

We spent a few days with Grampy this week.  One of the boys' favorite things to do when we visit is to go on a tractor ride down the street. This time the ride included a trip to feed the ducks at the end of the block. 

On Sunday afternoon we received a surprise visit from Mimi, aunt Diann and uncle Jim.  

We had just returned from having lunch with our dear framily Carrollton. They are  use to our earthy and care-free appearance.  :) 

There was no time to freshen up or even brush our hair, when we returned.  See above photo.

Poor Emory looks like Nick Nolte. Lol

I digress. Grampy was so thoughtful to pick up cupcakes and ice cream for a little get together honoring Deona; she will "officially" be 40 this Saturday.

3 Visits in 3 Days - Tired of the Tooth Fairy

What?!

Emory lost his second tooth today and he didn't even know it. 

The tooth is m.i.a. and we are thinking it was ingested.  We've assured Em the Tooth Fairy will come anyway.  

I'm tired of that Tooth Fairy; three visits in 3 days is a bit much. 

I'm gonna leave a note that she sweep up the glitter she left behind last night.

Emory Lost His First Tooth Today!

Emory lost his first tooth at lunch today. IT'S ABOUT TIME!! 

His tooth has been loose for about a month and the new tooth is already in place. :)

Emory is ready for that Tooth Fairy; he's pretty sure she looks exactly like the picture he drew of her. :) 

I absolutely love the boys' new school and I really appreciate the little extras, like the "tooth" necklaces the school nurse gives out to children when they lose their teeth at school.  <3  I am so thankful Emory's school helped us make today extra special. 

***UPDATE****

THE TOOTH FAIRY WAS HERE LAST NIGHT!!

The ToothFairy left a note and it says she has the PERFECT spot for Emory's tooth. 

Emory thinks his tooth might be placed  on a flagpole at her castle, because his tooth is "pointy". :)

That ToothFairy needs to come back and clean up all the glitter she left on beds, windows and floors!

Everett's Front Tooth

Everett lost his front tooth during his morning teeth brushing. 

He looks and talks funny. :)

Poor kid has crooked teeth; he will need an expander. And braces. :-/
