a little emotional

Our Everett is no longer a baby. I'm not only speaking of his measurements, or the sizes of clothing he is wearing, but more so about how he communicates with us. He uses both verbal and non verbal communication through words, gestures, and sign language. Today before nap time, I asked Everett to "get your blankie"; "get your milk". He did just that and afterward walked back towards me, then held up his arms for me to pick him up. I am a very proud mommy; yet a little emotional about it all.

Happy Birthday Courtney!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Courtney's 26th birthday at Lake Granbury. We stayed at The Lodge of Granbury; aunt Jackie, Courtney, Katie, Rebecca & Kaitlyn stayed in the unit below us, while Debbie, Deona, Ev & I shared the two-story unit above.

On Friday, we relaxed, fished, fed ducks, played Tripoli, drank margaritas and enjoyed each others company.

There are benefits to waking up early, on a Saturday morning...

Deona, Ev and I had a great time being first on the beach! Everett had lots of room for running, wading in the lake, and collecting lots and lots of treasures. Another great discovery this weekend, watching Everett play with his shadow.

Climbing

Everett learned how to climb on to, and off of our sofas and chairs! At the water park yesterday, Ev successfully got out of the pool, using the "elbow, elbow, knee, knee method, so it's not a surprise he attempted the furniture today. I must add, my nerves are shot; I'm constantly having to remind him, "FEET FIRST!" or "ON YOUR BELLY!" Will I ever stop worrying about his safety? Here are some pics:
