Fall camping at GSP with our CubScout Friends

 Sunsets in Galveston never disappoint.
As the sun began to set, the wind picked up.
It took some charcoal and lots of  lighter fluid
but we had a campfire!
The night was rough.  The wind lifted our anchored poles and the walls collapsed at least 10 times throughout the night. Eventually we moved the Dodge truck near the tent so that we could anchor the tent from blowing away in 20 mile winds.   Before heading home on Saturday, we chucked the tent in the park dumpster. You didn't get the best of me, Tent!  On the positive....we have a bit more space in our coat closet AND we're getting 2 small tents!. :)

We lived through the wind storm and although cloudy, it didn't rain.
On their morning walk they discovered berries!
Lots and lots of blackberries!
And Emory loved them. Very much.

Later the boys set out on their 1 mile hike, but first the Nature Center.
Lots of cool stuff happening on the bay side of the island.
20 or more tiny frogs stare at them from between the boards.
These trashcans serve as great resting spots for wildlife. :)

Just a tad windy on the hike today.
but overall a great weekend with our CubScout Friends.
