Granbury City Beach Park

This is our second time this summer to Granbury's City Beach Park. We loved it so much at Kaitlyn's birthday party (see blog post June 6th) that we decided to go back. We got there about 10 a.m. and met up with my parents, our nephew Jordan, Aunt Jackie, Courtney, Rebecca and Kaitlyn.

Once again I would have to say that it was one of the best days of this summer so far. There is a little kid area with all kinds of spritzers, sprayers and sprinklers where they can just run around to their heart's content. There's no standing water in that area so we don't have to worry about them getting in over their heads. (It wasn't working when we first got there, so a big thanks to the city guys who quickly got it working again.)

The lake was also a blast too.

Ev enjoyed bouncing in the waves, playing in the sand, gathering sticks and the occasional face plant in the shallow area. We're happy to see that so far he has exhibited no fear in regards to being in water.

We had lunch,

and the 3 kids played in the sand in the shade of our 'cabana'; then we went back to the kiddie area to expend more energy.

It must've worked well, 'cause Ev fell asleep for a short nap on Grampy.

My parents and Jordan left about 1 p.m. The rest of us (minus Rebecca, she'd left earlier as well) took our second wind and headed back into the lake for some more water time.

We loaded up about 3:30 and headed home, and as before decided we should move there because we love it so much. Too bad the condos are out of our price range. :( (Not to mention the long drive to work.) I'm sure we'll go back at least a few more times this year. You should join us!!!
