Grandma Cross' Farm on MLK weekend

Deona and I look forward to MLK weekend each year, as it is the weekend that we visit Grandma Cross on her farm in Oklahoma.

Saturday, we arrived to the smells of a delicious lunch cooking in Grandma's kitchen. Aunt Deanna (Grammy's sister) and Grandma welcomed us with a warm, delicious meal. Later, cousin Lisa and her crew Micaela, Ryan and Brynn stopped in to visit. Everett had sooo much fun playing with Ryan and Brynn.

On Sunday, we drove in to Perkins, a tiny town where Grammy grew up; then to Stillwater to fabric shop for the quilt Grandma is making Emilia.

Grammy and Ev had so much fun exploring the farm. Grammy shared a story where she followed Everett along the farm fence line. Apparently, Everett was searching for a way to get around to the other side. After walking for some time, their fence intersected another, keeping them from walking any further. Grammy said Everett "threw his arms up", as if he were saying, "what now" then turned around. :)
Thank you Grandma for a really nice visit. We hope to see you again very soon.
