38 Weeks!

We had our "38 week" check up at 3:30 today. A recap of our visit:
Deona's blood pressure was 122/85
Deona gained 1 pound this week
Emory's heart rate was in the 120's (BPM)

So glad to hear all is going well. We had a bit of a scare on Friday. Deona hadn't felt Emory move while at work. Even though we are aware Emory is running out of room, Doc has ingrained that 10 movements a day is imperative. Our wonderful Doc met Deona at her office (on her day off) to run a fetal monitor test as well as listen to Emory's heartbeat. Praise God all was fine. Again, we cannot express how appreciative we are to have found Doc. We have the utmost respect for our doctor; she is truly a blessing to our family.

At today's appointment, Doc confirmed all is well and on schedule. We are scheduled to check into the hospital at 5:00 a.m. this Saturday. Doc is expected to arrive arouond 7:30 a.m. to break the water to induce labor.
Thank you for your continued prayers for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

According to babycenter, baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he's over 19 1/2 inches long. He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)
