and he shall be called...

Many of you know Deona and I have a list of “E” names picked out. When we found out “Emilia” was no longer appropriate for our baby boy, we scrambled to decide on a new name. After several days and nights of discussion, flipping through name books and receiving suggestions from our family and friends, we’ve come full circle to the name we chose many, many months ago.

While we followed many signs to naming this child, we want you to know we weighed in all the suggestions and appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm, your opinion absolutely matters to us. We know you share in our excitement about this child and hope you love (or grow to love) his name and support our decision, whether it’s a name you care for or not.

Meaning of Name:
Emory = Industrious leader.
Owen = Born to nobility; young warrior.

Very cool. Does Owen have some significance like a family name?

Danielle, the name "Owen" has no true significance, however we considered this name as an ode to Deona's grandfathers, whom both had "O" names. we just couldnt bring ourselves to name our child "Orville" or "Oather" Also, we felt Owen complimented my last name "Guajardo"; phonetically (wuh-hard-oh) it flows well. Thanks for asking. :)
