Christmas in Austin

We headed south Friday afternoon, to spend the weekend with my parents in Wimberley. The drive was fast; in fact, we had no delays until we were actually in the city (Austin). We sat in downtown traffic for an hour.
Shortly after arriving in Wimberley (45 minutes later) , mom, dad, Deona, Ev & I headed out to meet aunt Tammy, uncle Donato, Chad & Leah at Logan's for dinner. Then after dinner, we all headed back to mom & dads to visit.

Saturday morning, we drove with mom & dad to San Antonio to pick up Tamales for our traditional Christmas dinner for Saturday evening. Enroute, we stopped for breakfast at "Pico de Gallo", a wonderful mexican restaurant near the market. Ev LOVED the flashy papel picado and other colorful lights and decorations. Everett was super-excited about sharing grandma's homemade flour tortilla; a first for Ev.
(Note to grandma: we'd like you to send us pictures, so we can post them here on the blog, please).

Getting cleaned up (in grandma's kitchen sink) for our guests.

Saturday evening consisted of tamales, ham, beans, spanish rice, meat, cheese, relish & vegetable trays, lots of desserts, plenty of spirits ;) & great company.

Ev had a blast with everyone...

Soon-to-be, cousin, Kim!

Ev also receive a ton of wonderful gifts:

Ev received sooo many wonderful gifts, we didnt get pictures of it all, but we are so very grateful. Ev loves it all!

Ev stayed up the entire evening and didn't get to sleep until 12:30 A.M.
Tired, tired mommies.
Sunday morning, Deona, Ev & I took aunt Tammy & uncle Donato to Garcia's mexican restaurant in Buda to celebrate their 23rd anniversary; afterwards a trip to Babies 'R Us to find a reclining umbrella stroller for Disney World. Much to our suprise, they bought Ev his very own Chicco umbrella stroller for Christmas! It's sooo cool!!! So cool, we're having Ev's last name embroidered on it, so there's no mistaking it at Disney World.
In the afternoon, we visited aunt Olivia, uncle Al & Maggie Mae (their adorable beagle) for lunch. Yes, it seems that the weekend was all about eating, however, it was a perfect way to end our "Christmas in Austin", weekend. :)
