Well Baby Check Up (6 months)

Everett had his six month check-up this morning. Every time we go for a check-up I feel so blessed that we have a healthy and happy baby. Doc said everything looked great - developmentally he is right on track and doesnt anticipate needing to see him until his 12 month appointment.

Length: 29"

Weight: 18 lbs 11 oz

Head circumference: 17 3/4"

Since his 4 month Well Baby Check Up, Ev gained 2 pounds, 4 ounces and grew 2 whole inches! Today, Everett is in the 97 percentile for his length...which means that he is taller than 97% of 6 month old boys. Wow, we just might have a basketball player afterall. He is in the 50 percentile for weight, which doc says is not surprising considering how active he is.

In addition to measuring and weighing Everett, he also received several shots; including the first of two influenza shots. Part two will be administered next month.

Other topics / discussions:

1) Ev and fruits - Ev doesnt like them. Doc stated that there was no need for concern and we could try to give him real fruit instead of babyfood fruit which is often too sweet. She also discouraged giving Ev fruit juices, and to only consider juice for constipation as it can also be a nightmare for baby teeth.
2) Formula - Because Everett will be drinking whole milk in less than six months, Doc recommended that we transition him to regular formula by 9 months.
3) Teeth - None and still no signs of them.
4) General Physical examination - all appeared perfect.

Everett is wearing a 12 month Carter's outfit. A week ago, he received this adorable outfit through the mail. It didnt have a card from the sender nor did it have a return address. If you're Everett's Secret Admirer, thank you for your thoughtfulness, we really appreciate it. :)
