Great Wolf Lodge - A Grammie Christmas

Thank you Grammie/Mom/Debbie for your AWESOME (or as Everett would say, "aw-shum") and VERY generous Christmas vacation gift.  I can't think of a better gift than spending time with loved ones, as we did this weekend at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine.  We absolutely, positively had a blast!

"Guardian Wolves" - The main entrance to the Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Water Park Resort
The Lobby
If you look closely, you can see Everett and Deona in the "treehouse".
The beautiful fireplace in the lobby.
Heading up to our hotel rooms,  Everett gives Matthew a hand.
Magic Quest is a VERY popular adventure game played at GWL. Children run all around the hotel (all 8 floors) solving quests from clues using their $30 wand.  Apparently children must use the stairs as getting on an elevator resets their wand and all accumulated points are lost.  How brilliant is that?
This treestump (below) was in the hall on our way to our room. If we had a wand I'm guessing we might have received a clue. Other items we noticed children pointing wands at were framed pictures, statues, designs on wall paper, and ceiling tiles.
Not even in the water two minutes and Debbie manages to get buckets of water dumped on her head. :)
Jordan & Matt race down the slides.
 Everett goes head first
and loves it!
Emory had a great time too!
After an afternoon at the waterpark, all 9 of us headed back to our hotel room as Grammie had a couple of gifts for the boys.
New P.J.'s, DVD's & chocolate.  Ev's fav's!
(In the elevator) On our way to dinner.
Visiting Santa while we wait for our table at the "Loose Moose".
Emory trying to decide what he's going to have for dinner.
The boys each received a pair of Wolf Ears!
Everett missed dinner. Tired, tired boy.
 Story time
Backstage with Rudolph.  Even so, Ev wanted nothing to do with the red-nosed buck.
Before retreating for the evening we stopped by the Hayhursts room to check out Jordan and Matt's Wolf Den.   Too Cool!!
Sunday - After a delicous breakfast buffet, packing and checking out of our rooms, we returned to the waterpark for several more hours of  fun.
The (not-so) Lazy River, as Roy called it.
The Fort Mackenzie interactive water play area features a dump bucket that unloads 1000 gallons of water every few minutes.
 Everett and Deona
Not long after leaving the Great Wolf Lodge entrance did both boys fall asleep in their carseats.  Tired boys = Happy moms. :)
Thanks again Grammie for the wonderful gift of memories you gave to our family, we all had an amazing time!
